Attendance Waiver Requirements

If you are interested in the Facilitation Skills Certificate Program and have attended the Center’s past workshops, you may be eligible for an attendance waiver. The waiver will allow you to advance to the next level in the program without retaking a course you previously completed. Eligibility requirements are listed below. If you would like to apply for the Attendance Waiver or have questions about eligibility, please contact Sarah Gilbert at 859-622-8653.

Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills Workshop

To waive the attendance requirement for the Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills Workshop and begin the Certificate Program with the Advanced Facilitation Workshop, participants must have previously completed the Facilitation Center’s Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills course or show proof of their facilitation training and experience.  Attendance will be waived if the course was completed less than one year before beginning the Certificate Program. If the course was completed more than one year before beginning the Certificate Program, participants must demonstrate entry-level competence by documenting a planned and facilitated meeting conducted within the last year by providing the Center with the following:

  1. Meeting agenda
  2. Meeting plan/facilitator’s agenda
  3. Meeting report

DACUM Occupational Analysis Training for Facilitators Workshop

To waive the attendance requirement for the DACUM Occupational Analysis Training for Facilitators elective, participants must have previously completed the Facilitation Center’s DACUM Training for Facilitators course. Attendance will be waived if the course was completed less than one year before beginning the Certificate Program. If the course was completed more than one year before beginning the Certificate Program, they must refresh their learning by:

  1. Volunteering during a DACUM Workshop. Participants may be asked to scribe, help set or break down the room, prepare meeting materials, or perform other related tasks. DACUM workshops are held over a two-day period, and volunteers are encouraged to participate in both days; however, only one day is required to receive the attendance waiver. Center staff will notify anyone interested in this option of any upcoming opportunities to fulfill this commitment.
  2. Documenting a facilitated DACUM workshop that was conducted within the last year by providing the Center with the DACUM chart, report, or other documentation showing the participant’s involvement.
