Facilitation Skills Certificate Program

Facilitation words

The Facilitation Center at EKU’s Facilitation Skills Certificate Program includes dynamic sessions on topics such as strategic planning, dealing with difficult participants and effectively incorporating graphics, as well as more hands-on practice with generating rich group discussions, building consensus, and creative brainstorming. The Certificate Program is designed for facilitators, educators, trainers, human resource professionals, managers, supervisors, and those wanting to develop facilitation skills to “Funnel Ideas into Action.”

There are three core courses: 1) Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills, 2) Advanced Facilitation, and 3) Practicum in Facilitation. To round out the program, participants also have a choice between two electives: 1) DACUM Occupational Analysis Training for Facilitators or 2) Strategic Planning.

The courses are designed to build upon each other, increasing the depth and breadth of facilitation knowledge and skills. Therefore, participants must start the program with the Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills Workshop and then progress to the Advanced Facilitation Workshop before taking one of the electives.  The certificate program concludes with an independent practicum.

While the courses must be taken in order, they do not all have to be taken within one year. If you have already successfully completed the Meeting Management and Facilitation Skills Workshop or the DACUM Occupational Analysis Training for Facilitators Workshop, email Stefanie Ashley or call her at 859-622-8651 to determine if you need to retake these courses to be eligible for the Facilitation Certificate.

To enroll in the program, or be notified of future training dates, email Sarah Gilbert or call her at 859-622-8653.
